Green peas love the cool weather! The best season to grow them is winter to early spring (October to February in India). They thrive in temperatures between 10-25°C, giving you sweet, plump pods before the summer heat kicks in. So, sow them when it’s chilly and enjoy a fresh, homegrown harvest!

Can peas grow in summer?

Peas and summer are not the best match! These cool-weather champs prefer temperatures between 10-25°C. In hot summers, they struggle, producing fewer pods or bolting early. But if you’re determined, try growing heat-tolerant pea varieties in partial shade or during a mild summer spell. Otherwise, stick to winter and early spring for a healthier harvest!

How much water does a Pea plant need per day?

Pea plants like their soil moist but not soggy! On average, they need 1-1.5 inches of water per week, which translates to about a cup per plant per day, depending on the weather. If it’s hot, they’ll need a bit more—just keep the soil damp and happy, and your peas will reward you with a sweet harvest!
